Bilbao, with a population of 1.2 million people, is the fourth largest city in Spain and it is located in the Basque Country of northern Spain. It began as a seaport (it is still Spain's biggest port) and an industrial city and only ten years ago men in suits came here to attend trade fairs, but after major regeneration it has reinvented itself as a services and tourism centre and now boasts some stunning 'starchitect' designed buildings and features.
